What you can do

Write rich content in Markdown

Callouts, tabs, code groups, steps, accordions and cards use the ::: syntax of Cecil: no HTML, no shortcodes.

Let readers search everything

The search box is powered by FlexSearch: the index is generated at build time, and the search runs in the browser.

Feed your favorite AI assistant

The Copy page button copies the page as Markdown, and the llms.txt file lists all the pages of the site.

  1. Create a site

    Download Cecil and create a new site:

    curl -LO https://cecil.app/cecil.phar
php cecil.phar new:site

  2. Install the theme

    composer require cecil/theme-leon

  3. Enable the themes

    Add Léon and its components to cecil.yml:

    theme:
  - leon
  - flexsearch
  - darkmodetoggle

    Nothing else to configure: Léon sorts the pages by weight and adds their Markdown version and the llms.txt file (see Configuration).

  4. Preview

    php cecil.phar serve

    Open http://localhost:8000 and start writing.
